“Let yourself be silently drawn by the strong pull of what you really love.” – Rumi
One of my biggest ah-has in the clearing journey has been this one: It’s all well and good to feel our feelings to their full and natural completion, but if we don’t feel supported as we clear our clutter, we will not budge an inch. What we need is a container that allows us to feel safe enough to let go.
In clutter clearing, that container is called “self-care.”
Daily doses of it.
Think of a time when you felt completely taken care of, even for a brief moment. Can you remember what it felt like?
In the spirit of Rumi’s quote, what is one activity that you can do today that truly supports you (and feels really good)? Perhaps it’s cooking a meal that smells and tastes great. Or buying yourself a bouquet of vibrant flowers for no reason at all other than to celebrate being alive. Or taking a salt and soda bath… Sitting in sunny spot for ten minutes… or, simply taking a few minutes to do nothing at all.
