Hands-home

If blogs are homes, then I’ve outgrown mine. Again. It’s been nearly a year of musing, shmoozing, sharing, wondering, nooding, exploring…

Expanding.

Two posts a week adds up, and writing them in what feels like a tiny blog closet, is putting a crimp my spacious style.

Without a sensible way to showcase, revisit, or even remember what I have stored in the back areas of my artistic domain, my SpaceClear Reflections become “useless reflections. They begin to feel like…dare I say… clutter! This of course is true of everything we use, love, and create.

Yet another opportunity to follow my own simple clearing mantras:

  • If something doesn’t feel good, something is not right.
  • If there’s no home to put things, there’s  “no have.”
  • Giving things a dedicated home honors their purpose and value.
  • The more beautiful the home, the more inspiring and energizing it will be.

So I moved.

I researched the best WordPress Blog themes and then settled on this one designed by Woo Themes. It’s not perfect, but I loved the magazine style layout on the home page; love the way my most recent posts are displayed like 12 little goodie bags.

What do you think of my new digs? I’m still decorating here and there as I prattle about and discover the nifty upgrades of my new blog estate. My posts are now neatly organized in their new “Clearing,” “Cultivating,” “Illuminating,”  and “Spacious Self” rooms.  Just hover your mouse over the header tabs and you’ll get a sense of what’s inside these cubbies.

Click on the Blog Home page for a quick overview of my latest collections. Scroll down the sidebar for a hit of inspiration, available resources, and clearing opportunities. Go to the bottom of this message and see a list of “Related Posts.”

I hope you’ll stop by, tell your friends, and visit often to check out my latest posts which arrive on schedule every Tuesday and FridayIf you enjoy these messages, I invite you to subscribe and have them delivered directly to your email box.

The door is always open…

And I LOVE knowing you stopped by!

Your new blog is lovely, Stephanie! I took a few moments to mosey through all the headlines. I found it simple to access your older blogs (I actually re-read some of them)! Good luck with your new makeover! I always enjoy reading your blogs, so keep them coming!

I hear you Stephanie, I just completed my FIRST Blog – what a process – finding the “right” theme, tweaking it, deciding which compromises to make….
    Yours looks lovely, so congratulations!
I’d love to hear what you think of mine, if you have a minute. http://www.blog.composedomain.com

    Stephanie,

Great to meet you in San Miguel. Hope the rest of the conference is going well. I too am in the process of upgrading my blog, but you can check out the current one and watch the progression.

I will add your site to my blogroll.

Wonderful to meet you too, Abby.

San Miguel bells were ringing in the distance as I read your post on Barbara Kingsolver keynote (my experience exactly, by the way!). When I have a bit more time I’ll stop by for a longer visit on your blog (and look forward to your makeover). I’ll add you to my Blogroll too when I figure out how! 😉

Like you, Loss is a theme I explore in my life and my writing. You’re story sounds amazing. I wrote a piece called “Being with Loss” that goes after the big questions: https://www.spaceclear.com/wordpress/?p=1152

Glad to meet another kindred sister from San Miguel!
