What is one song that is certain to lift your spirits? Change your mood in less than one minute? Give you goosebumps?
I have two.
1. “Golden” by Jill Scott. Not only do I feel uplifted by her deep, resonant, powerful voice, but expanded in a very spacious way. She’s such a goddess when she sings it. Makes me feel like I can do anything – especially when I CRANK UP THE VOLUME. Listen to it here.
2. “Amazing” by a group named “One eskimO.” It’s a beautiful reminder of how amazing we all are – especially when we recognize that there is no separation. I recommend listening first with your eyes closed, and then again following the lyrics with eyes open.
Amazing by One eskimO
I feel sweet
Do you feel sweet?
It’s amazing
I have no skin
And I feel everything
It’s amazing
I feel good
When you feel good
I knew I would
And it’s amazing
I’ve wanted this for so long
Now the deed has been done
We shall rise with the sun
And spend our time as oneNow there is no sin
In anything
And it’s amazing
I love life
I hope you do too
‘Cause I love everything
It’s all amazing
I feel new
Do you feel new?
I understand
When they say we’re born again
‘Cause I feel born again
I’m born again
And it’s amazing
And it’s the best thing
And it’s glorious
It’s life changing
This feeling
Is amazing
It’s the best thing
It’s glorious
It’s life changingThis feeling
This feeling
Oh lord this feeling
It’s amazing
It’s in the stars
In the sun
It’s everywhere
In everyone
And it will be every day
From now on
From now on
We are one
And it’s amazing
It’s in the stars
In the sun
It’s everywhere
In everyone
And it will be every day
From now on
From now on
We are one
And it’s amazing
It’s in the stars
In the sun
It’s everywhere
In everyone
And it will be every day
From now on
From now on
We are one
And it’s amazingLyrics Credit: lyricsreg.com

How about “Soulshine” by the Allman Brothers. When I’m down, it sure brings me up. We should all let our “souls shine”.
Thank you Water Sistah! Golden is absolutely radiant!
I should add, Feeling Good by Nina Simone is a powerful one for me.
Ooooh a new discovery! I love One EskimO!!! Here’s one of my favorite songs/groups (a group of 2 AMAZING women) http://www.mamuse.org/music/hallelujah/
