A Solstice Moment to Enjoy Any Time

Winter Moon

Not since 1703 have we seen the likes of this: a full moon, a total eclipse, and the Winter Solstice all at the same time.

The beautiful video below inspired me to take a peek outdoors before going to bed last night, knowing that there was no way I was going to last through to 6 am when the “show” ended.

Expecting to see nothing at all due to overcast skies and snow we were having earlier that night, I was dazzled by what I saw. There she was, full and bright, right outside the back door. A winter wonderland like nothing I’ve ever seen.

I took it as a sign to stay up a while longer and ride the cosmic wave in quiet meditation.

If you missed the eclipse, not to worry. Time is relative and infinitely elastic. Just send your positive thoughts, prayers, and deepest wishes back in time. Back to 3:17 am Eastern Time on December 21, 2010.

That’s what I do. And did.

Happy Winter Solstice everyone!

Here is the video showing the actual time lapse of the Eclipse. Very cool! Be sure to have the sound up, the music is nice too:

Couldn’t help but reflect on our time at Ggantija during the lunar eclipse that occurred then!

Is this your picture, Stephanie? With the pink? I tried but it was so cold couldn’t stay up past 1 a.m. But I did connect with your message and send compassionate thoughts.

I got the photo online (Bing). Took a while to find one that came as close to capturing my experience last night (mystical moon, snow, frosty). Actually this pink one doesn’t capture my moment, but I thought it was beautiful.

It is beautiful..I couldn’t see much but I took a snapshot of the moon on the right night at least.
